Yesterday, I tweeted this quote on “taking action”:
When you take action from a place of inspiration, there is no need to explain yourself.
The inspiration for that quote was all the controversy in the form of explanations that are being bantered around the twitter universe about “following or unfollowing folks that follow you.”
It seems there are some very strong opinions out there on this subject matter, especially since SocialToo.com just announced they will be charging for their follow and unfollow email updates.
I am not going to list names and blog posts of all the various players and how they are recommending (some of them very emphatically) about what the rest of us “should” do with our own twitter accounts.
The only point I am going to make myself is that I plan to do what feels good to me. And allow everyone else to do the same.
After all, we all have our own emotional guidance system, usually called a “gut feeling” and we are all empowered (just like the big names are) with the ability to decide how we want to manage our twitter accounts.
We can check in with ourselves and ask ourselves, “what feels better – following everyone that follows me or not following everyone that follows me”?
Listen for the answer that will come from within. And then, go with it.
Hey! You can even try it both ways and see which way feels better, which is what most of these folks have done themselves. You see, most of them started out following everyone and now, they are in bulk fashion, unfollowing most of those tweeps, for various reasons, as they have explained in their blog posts.
Anyway, from a coaching standpoint – I say trust yourself to do what’s best for YOU.
“Run with that” from a place of being inspired to do it YOUR way and don’t worry about having to justify or explain your actions to any other person!
